4th-O-July

Fourth of July in Australia AKA just another Thursday but not at the Ollie house!

On the 3rd Sky and I did some chalk art to prepare ourselves for the big holiday to come.

When the 4th came we all got in our very best USA attire. Thanks Mom for sending such cute cloths to Sky and Rain! They loved them. Summer used an oldie and I improvised. . .
Attitude, the good kind I think.
This is how she looks 1 out of 99  photos.

this is what the other 99 are like

peace and Love to all

The flag in the back is so cheesy that it is cool.

Summer found some face paints they were selling on sale from Australia days, that is in January. They were oily and never dried but Sky was Loving them and Rain just kept asking for more!

We decided that if we were to truly celebrate the 4th of July we must have homemade Burgers for dinner, and what would a makeshift ,Utah, barbecue be without macaroni salad? We managed to figure out a special patriotic dessert earlier. You guessed it, rice krispies, fashioned as a flag of coarse, and made while listening to the tune of God Bless the USA and the National Anthem rock and roll style.

After dinner we were all full to bursting so we all flopped onto into the Living room for a movie until it was dark enough for the firework show. . .

Well sort of anyways. . . I hit a stroke of Luck this morning while we were in town and I randomly fond sparklers so of coarse I had to purchase some for our celebrations! We were made to dance with fire I think.

And that my friends is how you celebrate Americas independence while in Australia. Turns out you feel loads more patriotic than you ever do while you are in America. You don't know what you have till it is gone. As much fun as it is to travel, America is the place to be, sure we don't have marsupials coming out of our ears but that is a trade I would make any day!
